Antique 10″ paper mache head German doll wearing a tagged dress “Merkelbach’s Nationale Costumes  Damrak 88 Amsterdam”.  Head almost feels like leather?   Head and face have some scuffs but very unique looking!   The intaglio eyes are piercing.   Doll has tightly stuffed cloth arms, mitten hands, body & legs.     Doll’s left hand has some cloth loss.  Doll is a little dingy but looks to be all original.  Holes in toes of felt shoes and a hole at right shoulder where metal pin holds arm.   Dress is orange felt with cotton skirt.  Doll looks like a boy but is wearing a dress?   Unusual & unique old German doll!
